About Swasthya Sathi

The **Swasthya Sathi Scheme** is a group health protection scheme introduced by the Government of West Bengal. It aims to provide cashless medical treatment to all residents of the state. The scheme offers a basic health cover of up to ₹5 lakh per annum per family for secondary and tertiary care.

Key Features and Benefits

  • Cashless Treatment: The scheme is entirely cashless, paperless, and smart card-based. Beneficiaries do not need to pay anything at empanelled hospitals for treatment up to the coverage limit.
  • Family Coverage: There is no cap on the family size. Parents of both the beneficiary and their spouse, as well as all dependent physically challenged persons in the family, are also covered.
  • All Diseases Covered: All pre-existing diseases are covered from day one of the enrollment.
  • No Contribution: The entire premium for the health cover is borne by the State Government. Beneficiaries are not required to pay any premium.
  • Transport Allowance: The scheme also includes a transport allowance of ₹200 payable to the patient at the time of discharge.

How to Check Your Name and Card Status

The Swasthya Sathi portal provides several online services for citizens:

  • Find Your Name: You can check if your name is on the beneficiary list by using your mobile number, Aadhaar number, or Khadyasathi (ration card) number on the official portal.
  • Card Verification: The smart card can be verified online using the Unique Registration Number (URN) and district details.
  • Check Hospital List: The portal lists all empanelled hospitals, both public and private, where beneficiaries can avail of the cashless treatment.
