The online portal for this is the primary method for businesses to apply for their license, renew it, and manage their compliance with the Telangana Shops and Establishments Act.

How to Apply for a New License

The application process is fully online and must be completed within **30 days** of a business's commencement of work.

  1. Visit the Labour Department Portal: Go to the official website of the Telangana Labour Department.
  2. Register as an Entrepreneur: Create a user ID and password by providing your mobile number, name, email, and other personal details. An OTP will be sent for verification.
  3. Fill and Submit Form I: Log in with your new credentials and fill out **Form I**, the application for registration. You will need to provide details about the establishment, such as its name, address, business nature, and number of employees.
  4. Upload Required Documents: Upload digital copies of the necessary documents, which typically include a photograph of the business's board with its name in Telugu, proof of business premises, ID proof of the employer, and a list of employees.
  5. Pay the Registration Fee: The fee is calculated automatically based on the number of employees. You can pay this online.
  6. Receive Your Certificate: Once the application is approved, a provisional certificate will be issued immediately. The final registration certificate is typically issued within 30 days if no issues are found. You can download the certificate from the portal.

Renewal and Other Services

The license is valid for a specific period and must be renewed annually to ensure continuous compliance.

  • Online Renewal: The portal allows for online renewal of your license by submitting Form III and paying the renewal fee.
  • Annual Fee Payment: The annual fee payment for license renewal has specific timelines to avoid penalties.
  • Amendment/NOC: The portal also facilitates applications for amendments or a No Objection Certificate (NOC).
