Overview of Startup Rajasthan

The Government of Rajasthan, through its Department of Information Technology & Communication (DoIT&C), has launched the iStart Rajasthan program to create a robust and supportive ecosystem for startups. iStart is a comprehensive platform that serves as a single window for entrepreneurs, investors, incubators, and mentors. Its primary goal is to foster innovation, generate employment, and attract investment by providing various financial and non-financial incentives to eligible startups.

Key Benefits and Schemes

The Startup Rajasthan initiative provides a range of benefits tailored to different stages of a startup's life cycle:

  • Financial Grants: The program offers grants for startups at the idea, prototype, and pre-seed stages. This includes a viability grant of up to ₹2.40 lakh for pre-seed stage startups.
  • Scale-up Funds: Growth-stage startups are provided financial support through a scale-up fund to help them expand their operations.
  • Monthly Sustenance Allowance: Eligible startups, particularly those led by women, or in the manufacturing and high-tech sectors, may receive a monthly allowance to cover initial operational expenses.
  • Intellectual Property Support: The policy includes provisions for reimbursing a percentage of the costs incurred in filing for patents and trademarks.
  • Government Procurement: Startups can get preferential treatment in government procurement processes and tenders.

Eligibility Criteria and Registration Process

To be recognized as a startup under the iStart Rajasthan program, an entity must meet the following criteria, which are in line with DPIIT guidelines:

  • It should be a private limited company, LLP, or partnership firm.
  • The company should not be older than 10 years from the date of its incorporation.
  • Its annual turnover should not exceed ₹100 crore in any financial year.
  • It must be working on an innovative product, service, or process that has a scalable business model.

To register, you must visit the official iStart Rajasthan portal, log in with your SSO ID, and fill out the online application form with all the required details and documents. The application will then be reviewed by a committee.
