Overview of Scholarship Schemes
The Government of Rajasthan offers a range of scholarships through its Social Justice and Empowerment Department (SJED) to support students from various backgrounds. These schemes are designed to promote higher education and provide financial assistance to deserving and needy students, with a special focus on those from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), and Economically Backward Classes (EBC).
Key Schemes and Eligibility
Some of the most prominent scholarship schemes include:
- Post-Matric Scholarships: For students from SC, ST, OBC, SBC, and EBC categories studying in Class 11 and above. Eligibility is based on family income and category.
- Chief Minister's Higher Education Scholarship Scheme: Provides financial aid to talented students from low-income families who have achieved at least 60% in their Class 12 board exams.
- Ambedkar International Scholarship: An initiative to support SC students pursuing higher studies, including PhDs, at international universities.
Online Application Process
Scholarship applications are primarily managed through the Rajasthan Single Sign-On (SSO) portal. The general steps are:
- Register/Login: Create a new SSO ID or log in to the portal using your existing credentials. You can register using your Jan Aadhaar number.
- Access the Scholarship Portal: On your dashboard, find and click on the "Scholarship Portal" to proceed.
- Fill and Submit: Select your desired scholarship scheme, fill out the application form with all necessary details, and upload the required documents.
- Verification: The application is then verified by your educational institution and the district office of the SJED.

Before applying, ensure you have scanned copies of the following documents:
- Jan Aadhaar ID
- Aadhaar Card
- Domicile Certificate
- Caste Certificate (if applicable)
- Income Declaration Letter
- Mark sheets of the last passed examination
- Bank Passbook
- Fee Receipt
