How to Apply for Scholarships
The application process for most scholarships in Delhi is conducted online through either the e-District Delhi portal or the National Scholarship Portal (NSP). Ensure you have all the required documents ready before you begin.
Step 1: Get Your Documents Ready
Before starting the application, gather and digitize the following documents. Make sure they are in the specified format and size (typically PDF or JPEG and under 100 KB).
- Caste Certificate: Issued by a competent authority in Delhi (in the student's or father's name).
- Income Certificate: Issued by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Delhi.
- Domicile Certificate: Proof of residence in Delhi.
- Aadhaar Card: The student's Aadhaar card.
- Bank Account Details: A copy of the bank passbook showing the student's name and Aadhaar seeding.
- Academic Documents: Mark sheets and certificates of the previous qualifying examination.
- Admission and Fee Receipts: Proof of admission to the current course and original fee receipts.
Step 2: Registration & Application Submission
Follow these steps for a fresh application. If you have already registered, you can log in directly.
- Visit the Official Portal: Go to the official e-District Delhi portal or the National Scholarship Portal (NSP), depending on the scheme you are applying for.
- New User Registration: On the homepage, find and click the 'New Registration' or 'Register Yourself' link. Read the guidelines and agree to the terms.
- Provide Aadhaar Details: Enter your Aadhaar number and other basic details. You may need to verify your identity using an OTP sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
- Create a Login: After verification, you will receive a User ID and Password. Use these credentials to log in to the portal.
- Fill the Application Form: After logging in, select the specific scholarship scheme you are eligible for. Carefully fill out all sections of the application form, including personal, academic, and bank details.
- Upload Documents: Upload the scanned copies of all the documents you prepared in Step 1. Ensure the documents are clear and readable.
- Final Submission: Review all the information you have entered. Once you are sure everything is correct, click the 'Submit' button. You will receive an application number. Keep this number safe for future reference.
How to Check Your Application Status
After submitting your application, you can easily track its status online.
- Go to the Portal: Visit the homepage of the e-District Delhi portal.
- Track Your Application: In the main menu, click on the 'Track Your Application' or similar link.
- Enter Details: Enter your Application Number and the Applicant's Name. You may also be asked to select the department.
- View Status: Enter the captcha code and click 'Submit'. The current status of your scholarship application will be displayed, showing whether it is under verification, approved, or disbursed.
