In Jammu & Kashmir, these certificates can be applied for and tracked online through the official e-Services portal.
How to Apply for a Certificate
The application process for all three certificates (Caste, Income, and Domicile) is similar and is done online. You must have all the required documents ready before you begin the application.
Step 1: Get Your Documents Ready
The following documents are generally required for the applications. Ensure you have scanned copies in the correct format.
- For Domicile Certificate: Aadhaar Card, proof of residence (e.g., electricity bill), and a school leaving certificate.
- For Income Certificate: Salary slips or income proof, income tax return statement, and an affidavit.
- For Caste Certificate: Caste proof from a revenue official, a previous certificate of a family member, and a school leaving certificate.
Step 2: Online Application Submission
Follow these steps to submit your application on the official portal.
- Visit the Portal: Go to the official J&K e-Services Portal.
- Register/Login: If you are a new user, register your account. Existing users can log in directly.
- Select the Service: Find the relevant certificate application (e.g., 'Caste Certificate', 'Income Certificate', 'Domicile Certificate') and click on it.
- Fill the Form: Fill out the application form with accurate personal details.
- Upload Documents: Upload the scanned copies of all the required documents.
- Pay the Fee: Pay the required application fee online.
- Submit Application: Submit the completed application and note down the **Application ID**.
How to Check Application Status
You can easily track the status of your application online using the Application ID you received after submission.
Step-by-Step Guide
- Visit the Portal: Go to the official J&K e-Services Portal.
- Find Status Link: Look for a link titled 'Track Application Status' or 'Check Status'.
- Enter Details: Enter your **Application ID** and any other required details.
- View Status: The current status of your application will be displayed, such as 'Under Process', 'Approved', or 'Rejected'. You will receive an SMS when the certificate is ready for download.
